HR in Wales was set up in 2024 to collaborate - not compete – and complement the brilliant events and opportunities already available across Wales, whether through your own organisations, other providers, or our professional body.

I'm excited to be working with like-minded, people-focused individuals and businesses who care deeply about the sector and want to bring energy, creativity and a sense of fun to everything we do.

Awards : Back in 2017, under the CIPD in Wales banner, we held our first HR Awards event to recognise the incredible work of people professionals across Wales.  We had no idea how it would be received, how many people would get involved, or whether HR people would put aside their habit of celebrating everyone else before themselves. The response was better than we could have hoped for.  In 2024, after almost a decade of leading the CIPD in Wales, I stepped down, and HR in Wales stepped in to continue the event. In 2027, I'll be marking 10 years of involvement with an event that has become a real highlight of the HR calendar!

Conferences : Our conferences shine a light on important issues that don't always get enough space in the conversation.  Our next event takes place in November, where we will be exploring the impact of domestic abuse in the workplace and the role HR can play in prevention, protection and good practice.

Networks :  Leadership Connect brings together senior people professionals to discuss the challenges in a safe space.  I'm also delighted to be a Regional Ambassador for the soon-to-be-launched Women in HR Wales chapter.
